What is a landscape hotel anyway?
Lujo Verde is designed for enjoying nature but with all the comforts of an exclusively designed luxury hotel. It’s a concept hotel that awakens the senses with experiential, inspirational stays.
Blending perfectly in the natural environment, it provides sustainable accommodation conducive to active leisure and mindfulness through outdoor activities and leisure pursuits.
Lujo Verde’s most important added value is the natural landscape that surrounds it. To protect and preserve this asset, we implement the following strategies:
- Adaptation to the terrain to avoid soil disruption.
- Smart design for the tropics to practically avoid the need for air-conditioning.
- Foundations are removable and concrete-free.
- Use of recycled or recyclable, if possible local materials with a low carbon footprint (FSC-wood or composite, steel; no concrete).
- Renewable energy sources such as solar panels and mini hydropower and salt-water batteries.
- Only electric service vehicles are permitted to access the site.
- Purchase of surrounding forest under threat and practice smart restoration to restore native species while we expand our guests’ access to undisturbed nature.
- Involve the local community to prove sustainable tourism is a win-win for nature and people.
The Wall Street Journal had a good article on landscape hotels recently. You can read it here.
This posts shows some renders of what we have in mind. It’s a design that is particularly suited for hill-side construction which will ensure great views and total privacy for each cabin.
And no, no glamping / tent accommodation at Lujo Verde but real, durable construction that will last for 50 years with minimal maintenance.
